100-Yard Benchrest

The 100-yard benchrest is currently the most mainstream airgun precision shooting discipline. The rules are standardized and widely adopted, with a scoring system that allows results to be compared across different competitions. It is a primary discipline that tests both shooting accuracy and technique.

SCORING & FORMAT:

● 2 Qualifying Rounds shot at a distance of 100 Yards.

● Targets are to be set at exactly 100 yards from the front line of benches.

● 1 Final Round at 100 Yards.

● 25 targets. One shot allowed per scorable target. Target cards are 3 ft. x 4 ft. in size.

● If multiple shots are taken on the same target ring, the highest score will be taken. A -10 penalty will be assessed for any additional shots over 25 in the designated target area.

● Best edge scoring will be used in the scoring of targets. Plugs will be used to determine border line shots.

● All rounds have a 30-minute time limit. In the event every shooter finishes before 30-minute limit we will end the heat.

● Bench positions will be randomly drawn in advance for the semi-finals. The morning of the final shooters will draw for bench position.

● There will be 30 benches on each range, so 30 shooters for each heat. We are planning on 10 Heats (【No separation between Pro class and Sportsman class】.

There will be 30 Finalists. We will take the top 3 from each squads.

● Target Size Measures:

X ring ……… 0.200

10 ring……… 0.475

9 ring………. 1.250

8 ring………. 2.000

7 ring……… 2.800

6 ring……… 3.580

5 ring……… 4.36

4 ring………. 5.125

● If there is a tie, scoring will revert to the higher number of X’s shot. If there is a tie on number of X’s the scoring will revert to the highest number of 10’s, then 9’s, then 8’s, etc. until a winner is declared. If in the almost impossible circumstance that both cards are shot exactly the same, there will be a tie and prize money will be split accordingly for the finals. For finals qualification there will be a coin flip to determine which shooter will advance in that situation.

● A .35 caliber plug will be used for scoring.

● There will be a $50.00 fee to challenge a target score. If an error in scoring is found the $50.00 will be given back to the shooter. Shooters may only challenge their own target.

RULES:

– Cheating will NOT be tolerated. Any person attempting/caught cheating will be disqualified immediately from all events with no refund.

– Safety is the number one priority. If any shooter breaks any range rules or has a safety violation, they will be immediately disqualified.

– If you are not on the line at the start of your scheduled heat, you will not be shooting in the event. There will be no make-ups for missed shooting times.

150-Yard Benchrest

The 150-yard benchrest is an innovative competition category created by IPAC and serves as an extension of the 100-yard benchrest discipline. As modern airgun performance continues to improve, the use of slugs has become increasingly common, while traditional 100-yard benchrest competitions do not permit them.

SCORING & FORMAT:

● 2 Qualifying Rounds shot at a distance of 150 Yards.

● Targets are to be set at exactly 150 yards from the front line of benches.

PRS

PRS Competition Format The PRS event is derived from real-world shooting and hunting scenarios. As a result, IPAC PRS stages reflect the practical nature of shooting. Caliber divisions are not used, because real scenarios require different solutions.

Different airguns offer different performance characteristics.

Course design may favor larger or smaller calibers depending on the stage, and no single setup dominates all situations. Athletes must study each stage in advance and develop an appropriate equipment and ammunition strategy to gain an advantage.

FORMAT:

● Shooters will be randomly drawn into squads prior to the event. Squads will be divided into 6 squads.

● There will be 6 Stages set up with different outlined courses of fire. Shooters will move together with their squads through each stage until all are completed.

● Targets will be of a wide variety.

● Shooters will be required to complete the course of fire with a variety of different targets, distances, obstacles  and shooting positions. (Offhand, kneeling, from a barricade, etc.) Each stage will have a pre-determined scoring format and course of fire.

● We have many shooters competing in these events. In order for things to run smoothly a high level of personal preparation will be required. You must have your magazine loaded, gun filled up, scope sighted in, etc. before you arrive to each stage.

● Scoring will typically be 10 points per hit on target. We may have higher point targets that are more difficult.  Certain stages may have bonus points for finishing the stage without a miss. 【Maximum possible score: 900 points】

● Shooters must complete the courses exactly as they are lined out to qualify for prizes. If you are unable to physically shoot from different positions you will get a zero for thestage. Please be aware the Precision Marksman Challenge is a physically demandingevent. Shooters must be able to safely move between positions

(for example: prone, sitting, standing).

RULES:

– Cheating will NOT be tolerated. Any person attempting/caught cheating will be disqualified immediately from        all events with no refund.

● Semi-Auto guns will be allowed. They must have removable magazines and be capable of being made safe.

– Safety is the number one priority. If any shooter breaks any range rules or has a safety violation, they will be immediately disqualified.

– The Precision Marksman Challenge and Speed Events require shooters to move around the range with their guns.

Before and after each stage: magazine removed, bolt open, chamber flag inserted, safety engaged, muzzle pointed straight up at all times.

NO MAGAZINES may be inserted unless actively shooting.

– Each stage will have rules posted prior to the event determining what shooting aids are allowed. A bipod and shooting bag are recommended. Some stages may NOT allow a rear rest.

– You will have a very limited amount of time to get into position. If you are not on the line or take too long, the clock will start. No make-ups for missed shooting times.

– 【Backup guns are allowed. Rifle changes or refilling are NOT allowed during astage. Rifle changes or refilling may occur only after completing a stage. Backup guns must follow all safety rules of the primary gun.】

– 【No separation between Pro class and Sportsman class.】

– 【No caliber or power restrictions. Any caliber and energy level may be used. Stage design accounts for advantages and disadvantages of different calibers.  Shooter decision-making and equipment selection are part of the challenge and reflect real-world scenarios.】

– 【Advanced optics, ballistic calculators, rangefinders, and electronic ballistic aids are permitted.】

– Ammo may be slugs or pellets.

– No practice shots at the stage area. No pre-staging on barricades or obstacles.

– A shot fired before the start signal results in immediate forfeiture of the stage.– Spotters and scorers will be present at each stage. All final scoring decisions rest with the range officer.
